On Iran

All this talk of wars to secure the middle east's energy supplies is far too grandiose a conspiracy. The incumbents in Washington are smaller men than that. They are oil men, and as long as the price of oil goes up, they're happy. They don't want to secure America's future - they don't give a stuff about America - they only care for their own gain. Everything about the pig's ear they made of Iraq suggests that they were just in it for what their own companies and friends could get out of it, not any strategic benefit to the US. They dislike Iran because they don't control it or have free access to Iran's economy so as far as they're concerned war is a win-win situation; either they get access to Iran or the price of oil goes up or both.
